Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists – (a new show from Pitt, Pottinger and Purshouse)
What happens when three poets who barely know each other decide to put on a show?
Join Dave Pitt, Emma Purshouse, and Steve Pottinger as they meet in a pub somewhere a lot like Wolverhampton and plot their path to fame and fortune. Will they be distracted by beer and scratchings? Will they put the world to rights? Come and find out.
An evening of poetry like you’ve never seen before. May contain language.
Emma Purshouse will be running a workshop on the ‘Poetry of the Black Country’ at Tipton Library between 11am-1pm.
This workshop is to support work being created for the Offa’s Press anthology, The Poetry of the Black Country. Free event.
If you’re a keen writer of Black Country poetry or poetry about the Black Country then you’re welcome to come along.
Please don’t send any poetry in yet as Offa’s Press shall be opening a window for submissions, with full details, from June 1 to July 23.
The 2nd night of The Caffe Grande Slam is on the 23rd of February and do we have a treat in store! [Very much so] Our headline poet is the excellent local published poet Emma Purshouse – a multiple poetry slam winner. We also have music from the brilliant Jessica Law. We are also featuring 10 minutes of the winner from January’s event – the fantastic Ben Moore!

Emma reads from ‘I Once Knew a Poem Who Wore a Hat’. The reading will be followed by book signing.

Come along and be bedazzled by bardic bravery, give your vote to a valourous versifier, whoop for a wordsmith. Who wins? The audience decides.

Black Country Voices
Emma will be reading from ‘The Nailmakers’ Daughters’ a collection of Black Country poetry featuring Emma, Iris Rhodes and Marion Cockin (published by Offa’s Press). The Nailmakers will be supporting Black Country poet and musician, Dave Reeves.

Emma will be rushing over from ‘Black Country Voices’ to be one of the performers in this very original event, which is an interpretation in story, song and image of Charlie Grigg’s life. Also featuring Steve Grigg, Alex Vann, Brendan Hawthorne, Kerry Halford and John Langford.
