The reading will include contributions from both editors, and seven other poets from a varied range of background and experience, (including Steve Harrison, Chris Kinsey and Emma Purshouse).

Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists bring their regular poetry night to Wolverhampton’s Light House for the Literature Festival. An energetic and entertaining evening, with a headline set from David Bowden and the ‘Alf Ender: Kuli Kohli. 10 open mic slots are also available by emailing poetsprattlerspandemonialists@gmail.com.
About the Headliners
David Bowden is an educator and founder of Word Guerrilla. Utilising beatboxing, live looping, and multi-instrumentalism, he delivers Word Guerrilla’s brand of spoken word poetry performances to a variety of different educational settings, workplaces and events across the country, making performance poetry accessible and exciting for all. David was the winner of the Wolverhampton Literature Festival Poetry Slam in 2021.

Join us to celebrate our outgoing and incoming City of Wolverhampton Poet Laureates. In this special event, Emma Purshouse will be sharing poems and her experience from her tenure as the Poet Laureate. Emma will then hand over the reins to Kuli Kohli, who will showcase her own poetry and what we can expect from her over the next two years.

Kathryn O’Driscoll is a spoken word poet, writer and activist from Bath, England. She is the current U.K. slam champion and a World Slam Finalist. Her poems mostly focus around mental health, disability, loss, and survival.
Emma Purshouse, Poet Laureate for the City of Wolverhampton. She is a poetry slam champion and has performed at spoken word nights and festivals across the UK, often using her native Black Country dialect in her work. Emma’s debut novel ‘Dogged’ (Ignite Books) was published in 2021.

A free online event with Ignite authors Ian Elmslie, Emma Purshouse, and Steve Pottinger. They’ll each be reading short extracts from their own books, and talking about how they came to be written. They’ll also explain which of the other Ignite titles is their favourite, give you a taster of why. There will be a Q and A at the end of the event.
